Day tours are typically for 8 hours up to a maximum of 12 hours and are charged at an hourly rate. We can also offer a set package if you know exactly how long you wish to spend on your day tour.
Below are a few examples of day tours, to give you an idea what to expect. Our driver/guide will have a chat with you, before setting off, to ensure you get the best out of your day, covering as many different experiences as possible.
A typical Castle & Loch Day Tour
Linlithgow Palace where Mary Queen of Scots was born, take in the famous Kelpies, on to Battle of Bannockburn site 1314, Stirling Castle and Wallace Monument, drive to Loch Lomond, where you can have lunch at Luss, including a boat trip or fine dining lunch at Cameron House, taking in the spectacular views.
A distillery experience can be incorporated into this day, taking in Glencoyne.
On return journey, go over the Erskine Bridge, via Glasgow back to Edinburgh.
Highland Tour – Feed the Hairy Coos!
You will typically experience a Castle at Doune, Whisky Distillery, being Deanston, on to Calendar nice small town, feed the Hairy Coos at Kilmahog, typically named Hamish!
On to Glencoe for beautiful mountain scenery. Back home via Loch Lomond. Stops for refreshment for food at Luss and Cameron house, or whatever your taste buds need.
Inverness Tour – Loch Ness Monster
First stop Calendar, past beautiful Loch Lubnig, take in the falls of dockhart, onto Fort William, Ben Nevis Distillery in Fort William for Whisky experience. On to Urquhart Castle on Loch Ness, boat trip at Clansman Hotel, to see if you can spot the Loch Ness Monster! You can also see Hairy Coos! Arrive at City of Inverness.
On the road back to Edinburgh via Aviemore, House of Bruar for shopping, Pitlochry and back over the Forth Bridges to Edinburgh.
St Andrews Tour – Also known as Fishing Village Tour
This tour typically involves, South Queensferry, take in the 3 Forth Bridges, spectacular views, Village of South Queensferry for coffee stop, on route passing Loch Leven, which is where Mary Queen of Scots was imprisoned for 12years, pass Cupar Town, touring of St Andrews itself, taking in the Old Course, University, Castle & Cathedral Ruins, shops, you can get out and explore.
Plenty places for lunch, take a different route back via the many fishing villages, Crail Harbour, lobster traps, experience the best fish N Chips in Anstruther fishing village. Kings Barns Distillery can be incorporated into this day tour. In the height of the season experience strawberry fruit farms.
